Doha, Qatar: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, and his brother Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, co-chaired the eighth meeting of the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council today at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh.
At the onset of the meeting, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia welcomed HH the Amir and the accompanying delegation to Riyadh.
He emphasised the strong and historic fraternal relations between Qatar and Saudi Arabia, praising the role of the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council in supporting and strengthening relations between the two countries, and affirming his country's commitment to developing and enhancing these relations to serve the interests of both brotherly peoples.
For his part, HH the Amir expressed his gratitude to his brother HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, for the warm welcome and generous hospitality.
His Highness expressed his pleasure at visiting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the eighth meeting of the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council, noting that the agreements signed by the two countries during this visit reflect the high level of partnership and cooperation between them.
His Highness also affirmed the State of Qatar's keenness to strengthen its fraternal cooperation with Saudi Arabia, in a way that fulfills the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples and supports security, peace, and prosperity in the region.
During the meeting, the fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries were discussed, along with ways to enhance and develop them in various areas of partnership, particularly in priority sectors including political, security, military, energy, industry, economy, investment, trade, technology, infrastructure, culture, tourism, and education.
The meeting also addressed the latest developments regarding issues of mutual interest to both countries on the regional and international stages.
HH the Amir and his HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia witnessed the exchange of an agreement on a high-speed electric rail link between the two countries' governments, a memorandum of understanding between the Investment Promotion Agency of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for cooperation in promoting direct investment, and a memorandum of understanding in the field of food security between the Ministry of Municipality of the State of Qatar and the General Food Security Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
