The Gulf English School performed its annual Music Concert to celebrate both Arabic and English Music from around the world recently. With performances from over 220 students who had been selected across the school for their strong musical talent it was an enjoyable day for all.
Over 500 parents looked on as the various school choirs performed and a solo guitar performance from Sarah Diefallah was a particular highlight.
“These students are singing inspirational songs that touch the hearts of the audience. Our music choir joins everyone together from all nationalities and celebrates the unity that The Gulf English share with each other,” said Dickins, Deputy Head Juniors (Pastoral).
Music Teacher Aidan Fairlie said: “This is wonderful opportunity for the whole school to come together with students from year 2 right up to year 12. Singing has the ability to unite across all ages and there is a wealth of both English and Arabic songs to suit all tastes with children involved giving their best to produce a memorable sound. It has been privilege to be involved in this event.”
“The concert is great because we get to perform on stage and have so much fun. The experience gives me confidence and my parents feel proud when they see me on the stage,” Noor Al Mashhadi, 6GU, said.
The concert was hosted by two IB students Ahmad Mashhadi and Nour El Houda Ibrahmi. The concert ended with the all the students and the audience singing ‘I am sailing’.The Peninsula
