Bharathi celebrates annual Indian Night

Bharathi, the Indian association of Alkhor community, in association with Al Khor community, celebrated its annual Bharathi Indian Night recently at the British stream school inside the Al Khor community. This year’s event was themed as “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” which translates to One world, One Family. In Sanskrit the phrase means that the whole world is one family. 


The function was attended by Khalid Al Hemidi, Operation Project Group Manager, Rasgas, Abdul Malik, Onshore Operations Support Manger, Qatargas, Mohammed Shikari, Acting Manufacturing Manager, Rasgas, Klaus Tiel, Head of Clubs, Recreation and Community PR, Capt Rashid Mubarak Al Khayarin, Community Police Officer, Seenu Pillai, Vice President ICC, Arogya Reddy, Headmaster Indian Stream AKIS, Reji Varghese, Asst General Manager, Ansar Group, Salem Al Muhannadi, Branch Manager, QIC.
Vishal J Mehta, President of Bharathi, said: “We take this opportunity to spread message of Unity, Peace and Harmony through our mega event keeping theme as Global Family-Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.”
Magi Srinivasan, General Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks and appreciated dedicated contribution of more than 300 participants and volunteers.
Audience were treated with a cultural extravaganza which lasted for three hours. Highlight of the stage decoration was a giant LED screen which provided a rich and relevant back ground for the cultural shows.
