Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change recorded strong institutional and operational performance during the second quarter of 2026, marked by expanded environmental inspections, faster response to public inquiries, progress in strategic projects and continued stability of its digital services.

The results were reviewed during an expanded periodic meeting of the ministry’s leadership, chaired by Minister of Environment and Climate Change H E Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie. The meeting examined key performance indicators, operational plans, strategic projects and development initiatives, while also discussing challenges and corrective measures to further improve performance.

In environmental monitoring and inspection, the ministry carried out 1,666 inspection and field visits during the second quarter and conducted 6,444 laboratory analyses, in addition to 6,013 analyses of laboratory samples. The results reflected the expanded scope of environmental oversight and the ministry’s capacity to monitor compliance with environmental requirements across various sectors.

The environmental monitoring system also maintained high operational readiness, supporting the accuracy of environmental data and enabling faster responses to emerging environmental developments and challenges.

The Assistant Undersecretary for Environmental Affairs said the results reflected the ministry’s continued efforts to strengthen environmental inspection and develop field monitoring and follow-up systems, contributing to higher levels of environmental compliance, protection of natural resources and the promotion of sustainable development.

In customer services, the ministry responded to more than 3,300 calls, achieving a response rate of nearly 99%. The average initial response time for cases received through digital channels stood at just 1.4 hours, compared with a target of 12 hours, representing a response time approximately 88% faster than the target.

The ministry also confirmed that all reports and complaints received during the period were closed in accordance with approved procedures and timelines, highlighting continued efforts to improve service quality and respond promptly to public inquiries and observations. Digital transformation remained another key area of progress. The ministry’s main electronic systems maintained an availability rate of 99.9%, demonstrating the stability of its technical infrastructure and the continuity of digital services.

The Director of the Information Systems Department said digital transformation had become a key pillar for improving institutional performance, service quality and decision-making. She added that the ministry was continuing to develop its electronic systems and services and adopt technological solutions aimed at simplifying the customer journey and improving internal operational efficiency.

The meeting also reviewed progress on strategic projects, with around 85% of the projects assessed during the second quarter progressing in line with or ahead of their planned implementation rates.
