Doha: In the giving spirit of Ramadan, Vodafone employees are supporting Qatar Charity’s Workers’ Iftar Programme. Every week, throughout the Holy Month, Vodafone employees are helping to deliver over 400 meals to worker camps in the Industrial City.
For every hour of employee volunteering, Vodafone Qatar has pledged to donate QR 1,000 to Qatar Charity’s Family Sponsorship programme, supporting low-income families in Qatar.
“We are so proud of our employees who are always quick to do good things for the community when opportunities arise. Empowering employees to do kind acts and supporting employee charity initiatives is one of our core beliefs at Vodafone. We are honoured to support all initiatives of Qatar Charity that have helped millions of people in Qatar and around the globe,” said Dana Haidan, Head of CSR, Vodafone Qatar.
Nasser Al Yafei, Executive Director for Local Development at Qatar Charity, applauded the partnership with Vodafone Qatar, underscoring the importance of cooperation with the relevant institutions, which immeasurably helps the beneficiaries especially in the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Al Yafei also noted that Qatar Charity and Vodafone Qatar also had several other joint initiatives which were successful and reflected positively upon the beneficiaries whom Qatar Charity is dedicated to help under a wide variety of projects.
Vodafone employees also volunteered last Thursday at the Garangao event organised by Qatar Charity for orphans in Qatar where they played with the children and handed out sweets. This comes in a long line of Vodafone employee volunteering under the company’s employee volunteering programme “Kafu”.
