Doha: McDonald’s Qatar has launched its first annual “Donate a Book” Ramadan campaign in the community across Qatar. The campaign is in partnership with ROFAQA (a Qatar Charity initiative), the Qatari institution which engages communities in promoting the psychological, academic and social well-being of children and orphans internationally.
The campaign has been designed to engage the residents of Qatar in a non-profit-seeking public activity, recognising the human endeavours involved in building this great nation.
The “Donate a Book” campaign was launched in the beginning of the Holy month of Ramadan and will continue until Eid Al Fitr.
Eight boxes were placed on eight selected premises of McDonald’s Qatar — (Abu Hamour), Woqod (Al Rayyan), Airport, Al Sadd (Suhaim), Mesaieed, Barwa City, Lagoona Mall and Al Meera (Lagtaifiya) —  aiming to encourage donors to donate books and help underprivileged children.
This charitable effort is part of the company’s ongoing campaign to give them hope, knowledge and give them an opportunity to realise their ambition and explore the world through books.
During Eid, the boxes will be delivered to ROFAQA as an Eid present to the people in need.
Kamal Saleh Al Mana, Managing Director of Al Mana Restaurants & Food Co, owner and operator of McDonald’s restaurants in Qatar said, “Our first annual “Donate a Book” Ramadan campaign aims to raise awareness about donating. We are extremely proud to be a part of growth in the country, which resonates in the success of the nation. We will continue to serve our customers and the nation by maintaining traditional values.”
