Doha, Qatar: Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has received ISO 9001:2015 quality management system (QMS) certification from Bureau Veritas, a world inspection and certification services group, under the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) accreditation standards.
This certification is a culmination of QRCS’s efforts over the past years to pursue the projects included in the Strategic Plan 2021-2024.
The ISO certificate handover ceremony was attended by Yousef bin Ali Al Khater, President of QRCS; Dr. Saleh bin Hamad Al Tuwaijri, Secretary-General of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organisation (ARCO); Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al Dehaimi, Director-General of Qatar’s Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities (RACA); Yousef Al Kuwari, CEO of Qatar Charity; Faisal Mohamed Al Emadi, Acting Secretary-General of QRCS; Cherine Pollini, representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Qatar; and Hossam Refaey, Country Chief Executive at Bureau Veritas Qatar. Other attendance included many heads and members of delegations of Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies/Authorities, as well as QRCS directors, heads of department, staff, and volunteers.
In his speech Al Khater said: “This certification, following intensive scrutiny from one of the World’s leading accreditation organisations, represents an acknowledgment of QRCS’s resourcefulness, proficiency, and ability to deliver on its humanitarian operations around the world.”
He emphasised their eagerness to contribute to the efforts of the State of Qatar to put national development strategies into effect, while being committed to the best practices and the highest standards of humanitarian quality and accountability, towards the strategic goals and satisfaction of beneficiaries, donors, and partners.
“We at QRCS consider this achievement as a further step towards excellence and a motivation to make more successes, added Al Khater.
“It proves the leading position of QRCS as an active member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, embodies our vision, builds our competitiveness in attracting more donors and partners; and promotes the good image of QRCS locally, regionally, and internationally.”
Refaey stated: “While working on the auditing process for ISO 9001:2015, we found no inconsistencies that did not conform to the ISO standards report. This testifies to the tremendous efforts and great attention invested in the work to meet international quality standards.”
He congratulated QRCS’s leaders and members for this extraordinary achievement and commended the considerable efforts made to provide aid and support for those in need, inspired by the slogan “Saving Lives and Preserving Dignity.”
