Qatar to attend Mena forum in London

Doha: Qatar will attend in the (Middle East and North Africa Economies, Diversification, Growth and Employment) MENA Economies 2015 conference organised by Chatham House in London from today.
The two-day event will be attended by  ministers from Arab states and senior officials from international economic organisations.
Minister of Development Planning and Statistics H E Dr Saleh bin Mohammad Al Nabit will lead Qatar’s delegation and address the opening session, highlighting Qatar’s efforts to accelerate development in general and economic development in particular, through implementation of plans of National Development Strategy 2011-2016 to achieve goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.
He will also review initial steps taken by Qatar towards a knowledge-based economy and diversification of income resources by attracting foreign investments which have achieved a clear balance in the state’s economic capabilities and traditional financial revenues from oil and gas exports.
The forum will discuss opportunities to increase economic competitiveness in the region and identify mechanisms to create new job opportunities in Mena by encouraging innovation and new economic ideas.
