Doha: Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has opened a new electricity workshop in Al Shamal City.
It is part of an operation and maintenance development project to ensure uninterrupted high quality water and power services to customers.
The workshop was launched based on the highest standards to respond to faults and interruptions on the spot.
Kahramaa aims to reduce interruption periods as one of the corporate performance indicators. The workshop will also serve as a standby office to cover cables and OHL faults.
It is equipped with technical devices, vehicles and OHL cranes to ensure uninterrupted power to consumers while standby staff are ready to deal with faults immediately.
The workshop covers northern areas, including Al Ruwais, Abo Zolouf, Om Jassim, Al Arish, Al Sulaimi, Al Gharia, Al Azba, Al Mafer, and Al Jasasia.
Kahramaa has cable maintenance workshops in Madinat Khalifa and Al Rayyan, and OHL maintenance workshops in Al Shahaniya and Al Khor.
All workshops are equipped to deal with faults along with the main workshop in Abu Hamour.
The workshops and all nine standby offices all over Qatar deal with any incident reported by Kahramaa call centre 991 around the clock.
