Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) has implemented 30 income generation projects at a cost of over QR2.2m for poor people in Gaza.
The projects were funded by the endowment fund of Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah, the Founder and Honorary President of RAF.
Under the income generation scheme, the beneficiaries received four stationery shops, five poultry farms, four farms for breeding sheep, four small vehicles, four grocery shops, four shops for household items and five other different types of projects.
The projects helped poor families making them financially independent. It also encouraged other young people to open businesses in different sectors to earn money.
RAF has a mechanism for the implementation of each project. The beneficiaries were provided primary materials required for the projects. To ensure the sustainability, RAF supervised the projects during implementation and kept following up after establishment, so that the income could continue for beneficiaries.
