DOHA: Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros (AAB), Co. yesterday signed a sponsorship deal with the Qatar Football Association (QFA) to promote the Emir Cup, the most popular football tournament in the country.

“We are proud to be collaborating with QFA which has successfully staged and continues to organise this prestigious tournament” Dr. Nasser Abdullah Abdulghani, Managing Director of AAB, said.

AAB is the official partner of the Emir Cup. Toyota and Lexus are the official cars for the event, officials said.

“As part of our support for the Emir Cup, AAB is supplying a fleet of Lexus vehicles for the transportation of VIPs while Toyota coaster buses will be used for the transportation of spectators from the parking lots to the match venues. AAB is confident that this will facilitate the spectators access to the stadiums,” Abdulghani said.

Ahmed Al Buainain, Treasurer of QFA, said: “QFA is keen on developing the existing relationship with AAB/Toyota and will be working together on new projects and new ideas to show the strength of this relationship. We know that the two parties are committed to promoting football in every productive way.”

Abdulghani, the Managing Director of AAB, added: “We are delighted to cooperate with QFA once again this year and are pleased to build upon the existing relationship which has been in place for years now. We are confident that this cooperation will result in a successful tournament once again this year.”

Khalid Al Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communications of QFA, said: “We are proud to be partners with AAB. Both parties are committed to supporting the Emir Cup. This demonstrates Toyota’s confidence in the activities of QFA for the last decade or so.”

He added: “We wish Toyota the best of luck this season and look forward to working with them again in the near future.”

The Emir Cup final will be played on May 18 at Khalifa International Stadium.
