Doha: The third Palestinian Heritage Festival kicked off today in Katara and will resume until April 15.
Commenting on the occasion, Palestine's Ambassador to Qatar Muneer Abdullah Ghanam told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the festival was organized by the Palestinian-Qatari Friendship Association.
The association is concerned with advancing ties with the two friendly nations. The festival focuses on highlighting the Palestinian heritage and identity, the Ambassador said. It features a host of Palestinian producers of agricultural produce, and traditional clothes. He added that the festival also reflected Qatar's commitment to the Palestinian people and cause. He also thanked Katara for hosting the festival.
Deputy Ambassador Yehia Zakaria Al Agha said that the festival will be more special than previous editions as it will have more activities and events. He noted that the design of the area hosting the festival was built to resemble Al Quds. He added that some of the events will include holding many cultural events such as the country's traditional songs and Palestinian Dabka.
