Abuja: The National Alliance Against Drug Abuse in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, under the supervision of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) accredited to Nigeria, honoured the State of Qatar with the Medal of Honour for its support to anti-drug and anti-crime programmes, as one of the initiatives and outputs of the Doha Declaration, issued by the 13th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.
Ambassador of Qatar to Nigeria H E Dr. Ali bin Ghanem Al Hajri received the honorary certificate during a ceremony that took place at the Qatar’s Embassy in Abuja, in the presence of UNODC Representative in Nigeria H E Oliver Stolpe and a delegation from the Centre for Ethical Rebirth Among Nigerian Youths (CERANY) and the National Alliance Against Drug Abuse.
The National Campaign Against Drug Abuse and the 2022 National Youth Conference are sponsored by Qatar, under the supervision of UNODC, as part of the preparations to commemorate the International Day Against Drug Abuse this year.
