Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Interior has announced a temporary full closure of Al Khafji Street and Katara Street on the occasion of the Katara Triathlon Championship, taking place on Friday, January 9, 2026.
The closure will be in effect from 2:00am until 1:00pm, to ensure the safety of participants and smooth organisation of the sporting event. The announcement was made through the Ministry’s official social media platforms as part of its ongoing efforts to keep the public informed.
The Ministry has urged road users to follow the directional signs placed in the area and to use alternative routes to avoid delays. Authorities have also advised motorists to plan their journeys in advance and cooperate with traffic officials to ensure public safety and minimise disruption during the closure period.
