The Wakra Zonal Committee of Qatar Indian Islahi Centre organised a seminar at Ezdan-36 in Wakra recently on the subject:  ‘Heart Disease - prevention and precautions’.  Dr Raveendran P, Cardiologist at Aster Medical Centre–Al Hilal, conducted the class.
“As the number of heart patients is considerably increasing — particularly among Keralite community, the subject has to be dealt with more importance. Even though traditional factors influence heart disease, it can be controlled with enough care if we value a healthy life.  The blockage in arteries stops blood circulation and causes to heart cells death.  This leads to cardiac arrest. We are ignoring the most commonly knowing causes such as smoking, usage of liquor, lack of physical exercises etc.  This ignorance costs our valuable life. The number of diabetic patients is also increasing.  The possibility of heart disease is 2–4 times more in diabetic patients,” Dr Raveendran explained.
In the seminar, a lecture was given by Muneer Salafi on the subject ‘Internal Organs – Miracles of God’.
A special programme for children was arranged by Centre for Islahi Students (CIS) Wakra Zone. The programme was lead by Safudheen Poonoor, Azhar Nochad, Zanjabeel Misri and Hamad Thikkodi. Zubair Wakra, Zonal President, headed the Seminar.  Mohammed Ali C M, Zonal Secretary welcomed the participants and Ma’roof Matool gave the vote thanks.    The Peninsula
