DOHA: Ooredoo has joined the list of sponsors and partners of the Qatar Football Association (QFA) by becoming the main telecommunications partner for the Emir Cup, the country’s most popular football event.
As part of the company’s goals to promote sports in the community, the partnership was launched under the slogan, ‘The People’s Cup’ to encourage fans to attend and watch the matches.
Ooredoo has a host of activities in place in different locations across the city to promote the tournament and to bring fans closer to the action.
Two types of activities will take place from May 8 to 17, between 4pm and 7pm, in Landmark, Villaggio and Souq Waqif, officials said.
The first event will be a schools tournament of players between 7 to 10 years old, which will take place in Landmark.
The winning teams will enjoy amazing prizes.
The second activity will enable fans to play an exciting range of sports-themed games at PlayStation booths in Villaggio and Souq Waqif, as well as take part in a range of competitions and contests. The winning contestants will also receive great prizes.
Also, after the final, Ooredoo will host a prize draw for the fans at the stadium, with the chance to win incredible prizes.
