DOHA: The Emir Cup football trophy tour continued its journey and stopped by at the Jordanian and Palestinian schools yesterday.
Sponsored by Ooredoo, the trophy was taken to both schools and the children were ‘thrilled’ to finally get a chance to see the trophy.
The trophy’s journey will continue to different schools across Doha in the coming days.
The students of the Jordanian and Palestinian Schools gathered around and took photos with the trophy.
The tour included a small welcoming reception in celebration of the arrival of the Cup to the schools.
Khalid Al Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communications of QFA, said: “The school trophy tour is part of our overall plan to involve the community and we believe starting the tour in the schools is a good way to implement our plan.”
He added: “We have witnessed a very positive response by the students of the schools we visited and hope to see the students enjoy the fun-packed programmes that our sponsors have organised. We also hope to see the students in the stadiums.”
Round four of Emir Cup matches will take place tomorrow (May 8) at Al Arabi Stadium and Al Sadd Stadium. The first two matches will be played between Al Khor and Al Rayyan, whereas, Umm Slal will take on hosts Al Sadd at 5:15pm tomorrow.
