Doha: The 6th edition of Mahaseel festival kicks off today at Katara’s southern area with the participation of 38 agricultural and food stalls.
The event is led by Cultural Village Foundation, Katara in cooperation with the Agricultural Affairs Department of the Ministry of Municipality. It will run until March 12 and will then continue every Thursday, Friday and Saturday until May 15 from 9am to 9pm.
This year’s crop festival and market has the distinct participation of a group of major national companies specialised in food production, as well as Qatari farms and nurseries, dedicating its position and role year after year as an annual economic platform that supports the local product of food industries and local agricultural products, in addition to supporting farm production in the country.
The crops are of great economic importance because of the initiative they embody to encourage local agricultural products, and to introduce the high quality of agricultural crops and the national food industries, which include vegetables, fruits, dates, honey, milk, dairy, cheese and fresh meat. It also reveals the growing volume of agricultural and food products and contributes to marketing the products of Qatari farms that have achieved wide fame and good reputation at competitive prices.
It is also noteworthy that the Mahaseel festival constitutes an ideal marketing platform, in which the finest crops and fresh Qatari agricultural products produced by Qatari companies and the yields of national farms are presented in addition to sheep meat, poultry, birds, nurseries, flowers and ornamental plants for home gardens.
Over the years, the Mahaseel Festival has achieved great success by attracting Qatari farms and national companies specialised in agricultural production.
