Third annual ‘Aspire for Education’ meet begins next week

The third annual ‘Aspire for Education’ regional conference, will be held under the title of ‘Our values, Our pride’. The two-day conference will start on March 13 at Ladies Club in Aspire Zone as announced at a press conference on Sunday at Aspire Academy.
Aspire Academy officials Ali Salem Afifa, Deputy Director General at Aspire Academy, Badr Jassim Al Hay, Director of Education and Student Care at Aspire Academy and Salah Al Yafie, Leadership Training Officer at Aspire Academy disclosed key information about the conference, including its objectives, topics and themes. The officials shared the list of renowned regional and local experts who will be participating at the conference for different workshops.
Lecture sessions, panel discussions and training courses delivered by a variety of renowned local and regional educators will take place on the first day of the conference.
Themes related to students welfare and success in schools. The value promotion scheme, philosophy and definition of values, gauging values and evaluating their effect on student behaviour, how to apply these values to thoughts and actions, integrating value-based education in the curricula, and the use of media to promote values these topics will be discussed on the last day of the conference.
Ali Salem Afifa, Deputy Director General, said: ”We extended the invitation to several local and regional experts from different fields to shed light on key issues in the ‘Aspire for Education’ conference, that focus on integrating positive cultural and societal values in the academic curriculum. As you know, Aspire Academy and its departments always seek to improve its curriculum and performance on an ongoing basis. Aspire Academy places great emphasis on positive values and their importance in inspiring students' growth, and we believe that values need to be taught as part of the curriculum alongside other core subjects. We wish to see yet another successful year and we hope attendees will benefit from the knowledge that will be shared in the conference so that we can help deliver well-rounded individuals who will one day become Qatar’s future leaders.”
Salah Al Yafi, Leadership Training Officer at Aspire Academy told The Peninsula that: “This conference mainly focuses on building the value of education among our students. We are teaching subjects in practical way which develops easy understanding for our students. Our curriculum was developed on extensive research from many books and references written by renowned experts in the field. Some of these authors were invited to speak at the conference are Dr Saleh bin Ahmad Al Diqla, Consultant and expert in Development and Values, Prof Dr Majid Zaki Al Jallad, Educational Consultant and expert in moral education and Dr Zuhair Al Mazidi, currently Director General of Arab Media Personnel Institution, and the Arab Community Values Institution among other experts.”
Badr Jassim Al Hay, Director of Education and Student Care at Aspire Academy said at the conference: “The Academy has two main areas of focus, one related to the sporting development of its student-athletes, and the other is the academic development, and we believe that one complements the other. These two areas are symbolised in the two wings that comprise the Academy’s logo, and a bird cannot fly with one of them missing or broken.”
