The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed strong condemnation and rejection of allegations about Qatar's involvement in the internal conflicts between the Libyan parties.
An official source at the Ministry said the statement issued by a number of members of the Libyan Parliament about the military escalation in the Libyan oil ports is completely and absolutely baseless and contained misleading allegations that are contrary to the fundamentals and the policy of Qatar towards the brotherly Libyan state and all countries of the world.
The source affirmed, in a press statement, that these claims are rejected and surprising, and not helping to consolidate the fraternal ties and relations between the sisterly countries.
"Some parties are hindering attempts to resolve the Libyan crisis through peaceful means for realising military gains. It is unacceptable that Qatar bears the results of this behaviour which is contrary to the aspirations of the brotherly Libyan people," the source added. Qatar was at the forefront of countries that have supported the Libyan people since the outbreak of the revolution in 2011.
