Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Interior has reminded that vehicles owners in Qatar that using private vehicles for any purpose other than those mentioned in the vehicle permit is a traffic violation.

In a social media post, the ministry said, "Using private vehicles for purposes other than those specified in the vehicle permit, such as operating them as taxis, constitutes a traffic violation and may subject the vehicle owner to legal liability."

It cited Article (5/57) of the Traffic Law clearly stipulates that motor vehicles may not be used, or allowed for purposes other than those stated in its registration permit.

The Ministry further added that these regulations are in place to ensure road safety, maintain order and regulate transport activities across the country.
