Ramallah: Secretary-General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Dr. Saeb Erekat, held the Israeli occupation authorities full responsibility for the live of the Palestinian journalist Mohammed al-Qiq who is on hunger strike for more than 75 days in a protest against his administrative detention.
In a statement carried by the Palestinian news agency( WAFA), Erekat said that there is a dossier of the Palestinian detainees held in Israeli prisons before the International Criminal Court, pointing out that he had sent written messages to U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
Erekat said he also had held a meeting with officials of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and asked them to intervene immediately for the release of journalist Mohammad al-Qiq and bodies of ten martyrs from Jerusalem being held by the occupation authorities for the past four months.
