Doha: Qatar Airways has won the Airline Platinum Award for demonstrating operational excellence in 2025, according to the latest On-Time Performance Review by aviation analytics firm Cirium.
The analysis highlighted the Doha-based carrier’s performance across its global network, achieving an 84.42% on-time performance rate across more than 198,303 flights spanning six continents, up from 82.83% in 2024.
It further underlined the airline’s ability to protect key connection flows and use operational data to retime and reroute services during irregular operations that occurred in 2025, including airspace constraints from geopolitical issues, weather disruptions, and aircraft availability challenges.
"Qatar Airways’ Platinum win is particularly significant because it demonstrates how a network carrier can maintain on-time performance across six continents while operating one of the industry’s most complex hub structures," stated Jeremy Bowen, Cirium CEO.
"Maintaining consistent on-time performance requires sophisticated network planning, operational coordination, and the ability to recover quickly when irregularities occur. These results reflect the operational discipline that defines aviation’s top performers,” Bowen said.
The latest achievement adds to the airline’s accolades, following its recognition as the world’s best airline in 2025 by air transport rating organisation Skytrax. Qatar Airways currently operates a global network of more than 170 destinations with a fleet of 304 aircraft.
Meanwhile, Hamad International Airport (DOH) ranked ninth in Cirium’s Top 10 Large Airports list, recording 84.70% on-time departures across 251,864 total flights.
Cirium’s On-Time Performance Review provides flight data analysis from more than 600 real-time sources, including airlines, airports, global distribution systems, and civil aviation authorities. An independent advisory board of aviation industry veterans also provides oversight and guidance.
