GCO organises training on crisis management

Doha: The Government Communications Office (GCO), in collaboration with Northwestern University in Qatar, recently organised a training course titled ‘Crisis Communications Strategy and Preparation,’ designed to build crisis management skills among representatives of governmental and semi-governmental entities.

The five-day training at Northwestern University in Qatar brought together 22 participants, including public relations and communication directors from 21 governmental and semi-governmental entities.

Director of the Government Communications Office H E Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani said: “The GCO continues to lead efforts in empowering governmental and semi-governmental entities by upskilling national talent in strategic communications and media. These efforts are instrumental in showcasing Qatars successes and reinforcing its international stature, fully aligned with the Qatar National Vision 2030 emphasis on human capital development.” “We are committed to leveraging our strategic partnerships with leading global institutions to deliver world-class expertise to our national professionals in communication and media. These efforts are integral to advancing the communications sector, fostering collaboration among governmental and semi-governmental entities, and enabling them to highlight the countrys remarkable achievements across all sectors,” His Excellency added.

In turn, Dean and CEO of Northwestern University in Qatar Marwan Kraidy said: “Northwestern University in Qatar’s Executive Education Program advances professional excellence for the evolving media landscape. Through this bespoke collaboration with the Government Communications Office, we are equipping professional civil servants with skills aligned with Qatars National Vision 2030. This joint capacity-building initiative empowers leadership in an increasingly dynamic world.” This initiative is part of the GCO’s commitment to the Third National Development Strategy, aimed at building a highly skilled and productive national workforce. The GCO will continue its efforts to offer specialized training programs that advance Qatars communication ecosystem.
