Cairo: The Arab League is currently engaged in consultations on setting a date for holding a meeting to approve the new (amended) charter in preparation for presenting it to the upcoming Arab Summit slated for March in the Kingdom of Morocco, Arab League Secretary General Dr. Nabil Al Arabi said.
In remarks today Al Arabi underlined the importance of amending the Arab League Charter, pointing that it was adopted in 1944, before the adopting the UN Charter.
The committee, which was formed for this purpose have already completed the drafting of the charter's amendment, he added.
