Cambridge International Examinations announced the winners of the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards, Qatar. The awards celebrate the outstanding academic achievements of secondary school learners in Qatar in the June 2014 Cambridge examination series.

41 learners will receive awards for exceptional performance in Cambridge examinations, including two learners who achieved the highest marks in the world and 32 learners who attained the highest marks in Qatar in a single subject.
Ahmed Fares from Qatar International School and Mohammed Hafiz Nurulhaque from Tareq Bin Zeyad Secondary School came top in world in Biology and Mathematics (without coursework) respectively.
Waseem Al Hanbali, Regional Director, Middle East and North Africa, said: “It is encouraging to acknowledge the high standards of education offered by schools across the country, reflected through these exceptional results. Two winners in the category ‘Top in the World’ are from Qatar; that alone reflects the levels of excellence. These achievements are a credit to the partnerships which Cambridge has established with schools and demonstrate the dedication and commitment of teachers, support provided by families and friends, and learners’ determination and passion to succeed.”The Peninsula
