Sultan of Oman and Kazakh President discusses regional, international developments to enhance cooperation

Astana; Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a session of bilateral talks with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman, who is on a state visit to Kazakhstan.

During the talks session, they discussed the overall Omani-Kazakh relations, and the understanding between the two countries and the common desire to consolidate cooperation.
Afterwards, the two sides chaired an extensive official talks session in the presence of official delegations from both sides.

The talks discussed the prospects of partnership between the two countries in the fields of energy, mining, transport, logistics, food security, tourism, technology, artificial intelligence, financial and investment services.

They also touched on a number of issues and developments on the regional and international arenas, and the two sides exchanged visions on them and coordinated positions that would consolidate security and peace in the region.

Following the talks, the two sides witnessed the signing of five agreements and ten memorandums of understanding.

The agreements included membership in the Eurasian Development Bank, the presence of the Eurasian Development Bank in the Sultanate of Oman, the promotion and mutual protection of investments, air transport, and the establishment of the Oman-Kazakhstan Business Council.

The MoUs also included cooperation in the fields of diplomatic studies and academic training, training and financial, cultural and youth training and cooperation, communications and information technology, health care, agriculture, livestock and fisheries, as well as strengthening the connectivity between international corridors.
