Doha: The State of Qatar received 2.614 million visitors through its various land, air and sea ports during the first nine months of this year.
In a statement today, Qatar Tourism explained that the number of visitors to the State of Qatar increased during the month of September on an annual basis by 1.1 percent to 276 thousand visitors, compared to the same month last year, which recorded 273 thousand visitors.
The statement pointed to the diversity of the sources of visitors coming to Qatar during the period from January to September 2026, where the GCC countries ranked first with 40.9 percent of the total number of visitors and 1.069 million visitors, while the countries of Asia and Oceania came in second place with 21 percent of the total number of visitors and the number of visitors reached 548 thousand visitors.
Europe came in third place with 538,000 visitors, or 20.6 percent of the total number of visitors, while the Americas came in fourth place with 7.3 percent with 190,000 visitors.
Other Arab countries came in fifth place with 184,000 visitors, representing 7 percent of the total number of visitors, while other African countries ranked sixth with 84,000 visitors, or about 3.2 percent of the total number of visitors.
