Doha: The Qatar Sports for All Federation (QSFA) concluded the "Summer of Sports for All 2026" series, which was held at the Aspire Indoor Racecourse, with the participation of 1362 male and female contestants of different ages and nationalities.
The races witnessed a great turnout, as 676 male and female competitors participated in the open race, while 686 female competitors, including 641 Qatari women, participated in the competitions of the third edition of the women's race.
Following the conclusion of the competitions, the winners of the first places in various categories were honored, in addition to honoring the participants with commemorative medals and incentive prizes, with the aim of motivating them to continue participating in the upcoming races and sporting events.
The series of races included time challenges that take into account different age groups, where participants over the age of 17 competed in 15 and 30 minute challenges, while a 10-minute challenge was allocated to the age group from 7 to 17 years old, and children from 3 to 6 years participated in a 5-minute challenge.
Abdullah Al Dosari, Executive Director of the Qatar Sports for All Federation, said that the turnout of the series reflects the growing interest in the sport of running, and the keenness of various segments of society to participate in open sports activities.
He pointed out that family participation was one of the most prominent features of the races, as it plays a role in encouraging children and young people to practice physical activity, and consolidating sports as a way of life.
He called on various segments of society to continue participating in the Federation's upcoming events and programs, stressing the Federation's keenness to provide diverse and open sports activities suitable for different ages, and contribute to promoting the culture of practicing sports and community participation.
The Federation's activities are scheduled to continue with the fourth and final round of the "Summer of Sport for All" series for women next Friday, in preparation for the launch of the "Autumn Sports for All" series later this month.
