Doha: The Ministry of Interior is holding a bronze leadership programme to prepare security leaders for FIFA World Cup 2022 at Officers’ Club at General Administration of Civil Defence.
The programme organised in collaboration with Northern Ireland police was attended by 16 officers from various departments of the ministry and Lekhwiya and continues until October 15. The opening event was attended by Brig. Hussain Hasan Al Jaber, Director, Human Resources Department at the ministry, Brig. Badr Ibrahim Al Ghanim, Director, Technical Office of the Interior Minister, and Captain Fahad Saeed Al Sobaie, Director, Training Department, Police College.
Brig. Al Ghanim said the course was first of its kind prepared to meet requirements of making bronze leaders to secure World Cup 2022. The programme is prepared and presented by agencies like Human Resources Department, Leaders Development Center and Training and Qualifying Unit of World Cup Organizing Committee.
The course includes introduction of operational command structures; roles and responsibilities of bronze, silver and gold leaders; leadership procedures in crisis management; securing sports championships; and dealing with possible scenarios in securing major sporting events.
It also deals with themes and practical applications using compatible simulation systems with FIFA regulations.
It includes topics such as command and control; mass psychology and method of dealing with it; human rights; and an overview of strategic decisions and practical exercises in the field of secure tournaments and sporting events.The Peninsula
