DOHA: The Ministry of Economy and Commerce has launched a new version of its mobile application that provides more services including issuance and renewal of commercial licence. The application is available on iPhone and Android under the name MEC_QATAR.
The new service comes as part of many smart services being provided by the Ministry to promote an investment climate and commerce in Qatar, the ministry said yesterday.
The new application helps investors apply for renewal or issuance of licence in a few minutes along with directly uploading the required documents. It also allows them to make appointments to visit the sites concerned in less than 24 hours.
The transaction will pass through many steps. The applicant will receive an SMS saying the application was referred to the sections concerned and is under process, asking for more documents if required. In case of approval, the applicant will receive an SMS for appointment with the inspector to visit the site mentioned in the licence.
