QNA launches training course to develop Arabic language skills for media professionals

Doha: Qatar News Agency (QNA) launched yesterday a training course on developing Arabic language skills for media professionals, as part of QNA Training Centre’s 2026 training plan, with the participation of media professionals from the agency and several government bodies. 

Represented by Associate Dean for Languages, Communications and Translation at the College of Arts and Science of Qatar Univeristy (QU), Dr. Seeta Al Athba, the three-day course aims to develop participants’ skills in using correct Arabic in media work according to sound professional principles, which contributes to improving the quality of media content. 

The training course includes theoretical and practical topics covering the basics of the Arabic language in media, proper journalistic writing methods, language editing skills and methods of rewriting texts, as well as the construction of an integrated media text that combines accuracy and appeal, in addition to reviewing common errors in media texts and ways to address them. 

This training course comes as part of QNA’s efforts - through the QNA Training Centre, to develop national media competencies and keep pace with the rapid developments in the digital content industry, in order to contribute to enhancing the quality of media production.  

In March 2023, QNA opened “QNA Training Halls,” equipped with the latest training methods, as part of its vision to enhance the capabilities of Qatari media professionals and create a generation capable of leading the future of national media.
