Doha, Qatar: The Katara Cultural Village Foundation inaugurated the “Contemporary Graphic Art” exhibition on Monday evening, in the presence of Deputy General Manager and Director of Human Resources Saif Saad Al-Dosari along with several ambassadors, participating artists, media representatives, and those interested in the visual arts.

The exhibition features 29 artists from Qatar and various Arab and international countries, presenting more than 170 artworks that reflect the diversity of modern printing techniques. It brings together multiple generations of artists in a visual display that highlights the richness of experiences and the variety of artistic schools and styles, reflecting the dynamism of graphic art and its ability to express contemporary issues with innovative visions. The exhibition continues until May 18, from 10am to 10pm, in Hall 18 at Katara.

The exhibition highlights the art of hand-printed graphic art as one of the most prominent fields of visual arts, showcasing diverse artistic values and expressive techniques. It features a variety of printing methods, ranging from relief and intaglio printing to porous printing, flatbed printing, and monochrome printing, with each artist presenting their unique experience and artistic vision in their distinctive style. In this context, the participating artists praised the exhibition’s organisation, emphasising that their participation in this event represents a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences and learn about diverse artistic practices from around the world. They also expressed their appreciation for Katara’s pioneering role in supporting the visual arts movement and embracing artistic initiatives that promote cultural dialogue and creative openness.

For his part, visual artist Abdulrahman Al-Mutawa (the exhibition’s coordinator) commended Katara’s efforts in supporting this art form, affirming that the exhibition contributes to solidifying the position of printmaking within the visual arts landscape.
