Washington: Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton notched a primary election victory Saturday in Louisiana, on the heels of last week's haul of Super Tuesday wins.
On a day of multiple elections dubbed "Super Saturday" by some political pundits, Clinton won the day's only primary, held in the southern bayou state, while Bernie Sanders sewed up caucus wins in the heartland states of Kansas and Nebraska.
The Vermont senator had lost significant momentum to the former US secretary of state after Clinton last week gained a sizeable lead in the count for delegates needed to secure the Democratic nomination.
But Sanders seemed to recover somewhat with his two key victories Saturday, ahead of another scheduled contest Sunday in Maine.
