Doha: Awais Malik blasted a century and picked up three wickets to power Doha Asian Club to a massive 112-run victory against Rawal County Boys during the Qatar Airways Division A Cricket Tournament.
The Qatar Cricket Association is organising the Qatar Airways Cricket Tournament in three divisions – A, B and C. At the West Bay Complex, Malik’s 106 not out boosted Doha Asian Club to a healthy 269 for nine in 48 overs. Rizlan hit 47, Faheem made 30 and Mansoor contributed 23. Rizwan got two wickets.
Doha Asian Club bowled out Rawal County Boys for 157 in 40 overs to carve out the big win. Owais was their highest scorer with 46. Malik removed three players. So did Abbas and Mansoor dimissed two.
In other two matches in the Division A, Hafiz Nadeem returned an impressive haul of five wickets to set up a nine-wicket for Al Feroz Youngster against Wings DC Club and Waqas put up a fine all-round display to help Al Hanzab Club beat Bangladesh Club by 20 runs.
Nadeem’s fine bowling floored Wings DCC for only 78 runs in 29.4 overs and Al Feroz Youngster went on to clinch the match in 7.5 overs. Qalandar struck 37 not out and Faisal made an unbeaten 31.
Waqas first hit 48 to carry Al Hanzab Club to 153 for 38.4 overs. Then he snared four wickets which restricted Bangladesh Club to 133 in 35.2 overs.
In the Division B, Khan Eleven survived a tight finish to beat Al Anoof Club by one wicket and Doha Bank rode a 61 not out by Harish to beat Taj United Club by five wickets.
