Inspectors of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce recorded 93 violations during intensive inspection campaign carried out in January.
Violations committed by the erring outlets were varied from failing to display prices before and after the offers and promotion, lack of separation of goods included in the promotion sales from those not included in the offers, in addition to selling prices higher than the displayed prices. Violations also included failure to use Arabic Language to display prices, refusing to cooperate with inspectors, lack of issuing invoices, increasing prices without taking prior permission from the Ministry.
The Ministry also said offenders found violating law number (8) of 2008 and ministerial decision number (5) of 1984 regarding discounted sales (promotions) will face fines ranging between QR5,000 and QR30,000.
