Cairo: HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice, Chairman of the National Committee for International Humanitarian Law and Chairman of the Arab Standing Committee on International Humanitarian Law, met with HE Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Nabil Fahmy, on the sidelines of the workshop on the implementation of international humanitarian law at the national level, held in Cairo.
During the meeting, they reviewed the work program of the Arab Standing Committee on International Humanitarian Law and ways to enhance its regional role in promoting the principles of international humanitarian law, spreading its culture, and enhancing awareness of its provisions and rules, in order to support the efforts of Arab States in the field of its application at the national level.
HE the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States welcomed the State of Qatar's presidency of the Arab Standing Committee on International Humanitarian Law, stressing his support for the work of the Committee and his keenness to provide everything that would enable it to perform the tasks entrusted to it, and to enhance its role in consolidating the principles of international humanitarian law and spreading its culture at the level of Arab countries, in a way that contributes to the success of the Committee's work and the achievement of the objectives for which it was established.
