Doha: The International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA) has officially granted Group 1 International status to HH the Amir Trophy, the flagship Thoroughbred feature of the HH the Amir Sword Festival.
The decision was approved at the IFHA meeting in Paris, attended by a Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) delegation led by Chairman Hamad bin Abdulrahman Al Attiya, alongside Vice CEO Ahmed Amanalla Al Sheebani, Head of International Affairs Patricia Musial, and Chief Steward Philip Dingwall.
Highlighting Qatar's growing global standing and strict standards at Al Rayyan Racecourse, the IFHA also upgraded the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Cup to Group 3 status, while granting Listed status to both the Dukhan Sprint and the Al Rayyan Mile.
