DOHA: As a tribute to the contribution of teachers to society, Teach For Qatar has launched a ‘Thank Your Teacher’ social media campaign to mark World Teacher’s Day.
The campaign, which runs throughout the month, features young people from various professions in Qatar sending a special message of appreciation to their teachers.
The campaign was also launched as a platform for anyone seeking to acknowledge teachers who have positively impacted their lives can participate, using the hashtag #thank_your_teacher on Twitter and Instagram.
Promoting values of the teaching profession is one of the main objectives of the campaign, which also seeks to harness opportunities to acknowledge teachers’ crucial role in society.
Founded by H E Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Teach For Qatar is a local non-governmental organisation working as part of a solution to help solve some of the challenges Qatar’s students face. It reinvests exceptionally talented leaders into the independent school system through a two-year leadership development and teaching programme.
World Teachers’ Day has been celebrated in over 100 countries, including Qatar, since its establishment in 1994.
