Doha: Lulu Hypermarket Group has once again organised Pinoy Fiesta this year. It  was inaugurated by Philippine Ambassador Wilfredo C Santos last night at Lulu Hypermarket, D-Ring Road branch.
Mohamed Althaf, Director, Lulu Group International, and other officials, dignitaries and senior executives from leading business groups in the retail industry were present.
Organising the fiesta, Lulu endeavoured to celebrate Philippine culinary heritage and food habits and highlight and promote the best quality Filipino food products and agricultural produce in the local community.
Lulu Group has been organising the fiesta for many years as part of its annual food festivals.
However, this year it has focused on Philippine food and food habits, taking into consideration its long heritage compared to other cuisines and colonial influences.
Extensive promotion campaigns and price-buster offers have been planned for the next two consecutive weeks on many imported items, in association with brands, including Mama Sita’s, Ligo, Delmonte, CDO, Lucky Me, Selecta, UFC Century, among others.
Agricultural produce from the Philippines are also on display and available throughout the festival.
Chef Andro Coronel Faderanga from Mama Sita’s company will conduct live cooking sessions for Pinoy food-lovers. A raffle draw is organised for customers who buy any of the offered items for QR25. Participants are entitled to win 15 ‘To & Fro’ air tickets for the Manila sector.
The festival runs until October 20.
