Doha: Latest satellite images show thundery rain over northern and west areas of the country, tweeted Qatar Meteorology Department.
It added that residents should be careful of the associated strong winds and low visibility.
The department had also shared a video of local cloud formation in the northwestern part towards Al Zubarah.

QMD in its weekend report had predicted that there is a chance of scattered rain on Saturday.
In its daily report, the department said that weather inshore until 6 pm will be hazy at some places at first becomes hot daytime with local clouds and chance of scattered rain.

Offshore, it will be fine weather, the report added.
Wind inshore will be mainly southeasterly to northeasterly 05 to 15 knot reaching 19 knot at places by afternoon.

Visibility will be 4 to 8 kilometer.
Sea state inshore will be 1 to 3 feet. Offshore, it will be 2 to 4 feet.
