Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, represented by the Department of Mosques, has inaugurated a new grand mosque in the Al-Wukair area. The mosque accommodates 852 worshippers, including 744 men and 108 women, and is situated on a spacious 2,799 square meter plot. The facility includes an imam's house and a muezzin's residence.
This opening aligns with the ministry's strategic plan to expand and upgrade mosques across the country, in response to urban growth and population increases, in line with Qatar's National Vision 2030.
The new mosque, designated as Mosque No. (M. S 541), features a large prayer hall, a separate prayer area for women, ample ablution facilities, and numerous parking spaces, including designated spots for individuals with special needs. The mosque is also distinguished by its prominent minaret.
The Ministry's website offers a geo-navigation system that allows users to locate mosques across the country with precision, making it easier for worshippers to find nearby prayer facilities.
