Doha, Qatar: Shafallah Centre for Persons With Disabilities, which is one of the affiliates of Qatar Foundation for Social Work, has initiated its summer activities that target all affiliates from persons with mild disabilities and autism whose age range from three to 21-year. The event will run until June 26.
The activities of summer season will start during the weekdays from Sunday to Thursday at the premises of Shafallah Centre in Lusail from 8am until 12pm, the centre said in a statement yesterday.
Executive Director of Shafallah Center for Persons With Disabilities Laalei Abu Alfain said the summer activities aim to promote the centre’s initiative dedicated to persons with disabilities in providing educational, training and rehabilitative services to its affiliates. The activities also aim to help them move from routine and normal atmospheres, through carrying out multiple activities within an appropriate recreational framework that best suits their abilities and needs, she added, pointing out that the centre has coordinated with several entities concerned with these activities.
Summer activity promotes the roles to have the affiliates acquire expertise and skills during summer season and employ affiliates’ capabilities and their potential through implementing useful activities including leisure-time physical activity, Abu Alfain noted, expressing appreciation for all institutions and companies that supported the summer activity’s events, lauding their role in partnership and social responsibility.
