Geneva: The State of Qatar will participate in the International Labour Conference (ILC) in its 111th session, which will kick off today in Geneva, Switzerland.
In the conference, the State of Qatar’s delegation will be headed by Minister of Labour H E Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri.
The conference will conclude on Friday, and its agenda includes a discussion regarding the report of International Labour Organization (ILO) Director-General on advancing social justice, a report on the conditions of workers in the occupied Arab territories, and other reports on apprenticeships, gender equality, social protection for workers, and ways to achieve a just transition towards environmentally sustainable economies and societies for all.
The State of Qatar’s delegation includes representatives from Qatar Chamber, QatarEnergy and Karwa company. More than 5,000 participants, including heads of states and governments, relevant ministers, representatives of employers and workers, and international, governmental and labour organisations, will also attend the conference.
