The Program of the United Nations Commissioner of Advocacy for the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 conferred the title of UN Representative to Advocate UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030 to Dr. Sheikha Al Anoud bint Mohammed Al Thani, Director of Health Promotion and Non-communicable Diseases at the Ministry of Public Health, and in addition presented her with the Gold Award for Sustainable Development 2017 among key high-level Arab and international personalities, who play active national and international community roles.
The ceremony took place as part of the activities of the 2017 Orphans International Conference held in Manama recently in recognition of her efforts in the field of health promotion at the national level and commitment to work towards achieving sustainable development goals.
Dr. Sheikha Al Anoud expressed her pride and pleasure at receiving the honour, pointing out that it represents a great motivation to intensify the efforts aimed at achieving the goals of sustainable development in order to promote prosperity and people's well-being.
