Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs H E Dr Issa Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi has inaugurated a charity bazaar for poor families that have turned productive, at Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC).
The bazaar is being organised by Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) under its Ramadan event Bashair Al Rahma (good news for mercy) in collaboration with QNCC and Qatar Chamber under the supervision of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.
As many as 36 productive families and the companies supporting them have set up stalls at charity bazaar. They are showcasing food items, beautiful dresses, household items, perfumes and toys among others. The bazaar will continue until Shawal 7, a week after Ramadan.
The minister visited the stalls and appreciated the efforts of productive families and their achievements in making quality products, said a release.
“The projects of Qatari families and those related for their developments in the country are very important, said Al Nuaimi.
“Charity organisations are playing a supportive role for the development of the society,” he added.
The charity bazaar is not new for RAF, it has been supporting productive families in various ways, said the Minister.
“Charity bazaar is an associated activity of Ramadan village being organised by RAF at QNCC,” said Dr Ayed bin Dabssan Al Qahtani, Chairman, Board of Trustees, and General Director, RAF.
“RAF plans to hold a number of platforms for productive families so they can showcase their products like this charity bazaar,” said Al Qahtani.
“The move aims at providing opportunities to them to market and introduce their products to the community,” he added.
Charity bazaar provides opportunity to productive families to showcase their products to visitors of Ramadan village, said Saleh bin Hamad Al
Sharqi, Director General of Qatar Chamber (QC).
QC has been supporting the productive families to enhance their skills and help market their products in Qatar and abroad, he added.
“Qatar Chamber in collaboration with Qatar Development Bank (QDB) will hold an exhibition entitled “our home products” from October 1 to 5 this year,” said Al Sharqi.
“The exhibition aims at supporting Qatari owners of home businesses in marketing their products,” he added.
