Doha: Indonesian Social Community Association (ISWI), one of the oldest community groups in the country is ready to support Qatar as the host of the FIFA World Cup.
During a gathering at Al Bayt Stadium which was also attended by Indonesian Ambassador to Qatar, H E Ridwan Hassan, the organisation said they are all geared up to make the World Cup a successful one.
ISWI Chairperson, Muhammad Ridwan said, “It has become ISWI’s commitment to be a bridge for Indonesia and Qatar community.” ISWI has been actively involved in promoting Indonesia in Qatar. For example, many of ISWI members are also member of Saman Al Khor Dancing Group which has been very active, including during the FIFA Arab Cup 2021.
H E Hassan said, “To me ISWI members are also our ‘ambassadors’. At the people-to-people level, the role of community groups such as ISWI is very important in building understanding between the community members.”
