Winter workshop for kids

Children aged four years and above will have the chance to explore and experience new and innovative activities in the field of dance, music, arts and fitness at Winter Workshop 2012 for Kids, to be held by the performing arts academy IAID.

The pre-ballet class is open to kids aged four to six years. It will teach the participants basic ballet movements and discipline while more advanced ballet routines will be taught to kids seven to 12 years old. In Hip-Hop Craze, designed for kids aged seven to 18 years, the participants will get to learn correct footwork, rhythm and coordination.

In the Visual and Studio Arts courses, children aged four to six years will learn various techniques in cartooning. Another art course, Cartooning, Comic and Character Design, for participants aged seven years and above, will offer a higher level of workshop exercises that will include creating of a comic story board, cartoon conversation bubbles and more.

There are also fitness courses. Aero Steps will have kids aged seven years and above stomping, hopping and striding to a rhythm while using a stepper. 

Due to an overwhelming response from the last Summer Workshop, IAID is bringing back Boxing for Fitness Round 2, designed for children aged seven to 12 years. The course will boost the participants’ fitness level, help develop self-esteem and improve confidence levels. Fun and Fit, a high-energy fitness dance course, will be packed with specially choreographed routines set to the latest dance music.

In the music courses, Acoustic Rock, open to kids five years and above, will teach the participants basic guitar theories such as chords, notation, sight and rhythm reading. Musical Theatre, for kids seven years and above, will give young actors of all skill levels the opportunity to perform and explore their creativity through singing and acting based on the popular musical Oliver Twist.

Performing Arts for kids, a specialized preparatory course open to kids four to six years of age, will integrate dancing, singing and playing an instrument set.
