Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Golf Association (QGA) will host the 45th Arab Men’s Golf Championship and the 17th Arab Ladies’ Golf Championship, which get under way on Friday at Doha Golf Club.

The event, which will conclude on November 11, will mark the first time Qatar has hosted the championships, bringing together leading Arab golfers for what promises to be a memorable edition.

The men’s entry list features 52 players representing 14 Arab countries, while 21 players from nine countries will compete in the ladies’ championship. This broad participation sets the stage for a highly competitive event.

Strong competition is expected for both the team and individual titles, with participating nations fielding their leading players.

The quality and experience of the field, combined with each team’s ambition to secure a place on the podium, promise an exciting contest at Doha Golf Club.

The official programme begins with the arrival of delegations today, followed by practice rounds on the following days.

The opening ceremony will take place on Friday, 6 November, at 3:30 p.m. Competition starts on 7 November, with the ladies’ championship concluding on 9 November and the men’s championship on 10 November. The closing ceremony and prize presentation will also take place on 10 November at 3:30pm.

Hamad Abdulla Al Mana, President of the Qatar Golf Association, expressed his pride in hosting the event, saying: “We are honoured to host the 45th  Arab Men’s Golf Championship and the 17th  Arab Ladies’ Golf Championship in Qatar for the first time. We are delighted to welcome all our fellow Arab delegations to their second home and wish them every success and a pleasant stay.”

He added: “All preparations are complete, and we are fully ready to welcome the participating teams and deliver a championship that reflects the standing of Arab golf. We are committed to providing the conditions that enable every player to perform at their best. We look forward to strong competition played in a spirit of sportsmanship, and to an event that strengthens the bonds of friendship and cooperation among Arab golf federations.”

Hosting the championships marks an important milestone for the Qatar Golf Association. It also gives Qatar’s national team players the opportunity to compete on home soil in front of their supporters, while strengthening sporting ties across the Arab world and supporting the continued development of golf.
