Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), in partnership with GSMA, is putting the finishing touches on preparations to host MWC26 Doha.
Held under the theme "The IQ Era," the conference will take place from Nov. 8-10, 2026, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.
MCIT's preparations focus on showcasing Qatar's progress in digital transformation, highlighting major national ICT projects and initiatives, and reinforcing the country's position on the regional and global technology stage.
A key part of these preparations is the Qatar Pavilion, organized by MCIT, which will bring together more than 15 government and semi-government entities. The pavilion will showcase national projects and initiatives spanning digital transformation, artificial intelligence, digital government services, and innovation.
It will also highlight Qatar's progress in adopting emerging technologies across sectors, with a particular focus on government collaboration to deliver more efficient, accessible, and user-friendly digital services.
MCIT will use the conference to spotlight its work toward achieving the goals of Qatar's Digital Agenda 2030, including advancing digital government, accelerating AI adoption, fostering innovation, and building national digital capabilities. These efforts are central to Qatar's ambition to boost productivity, improve public services, and drive the growth of its digital economy.
MWC26 Doha will also mark a significant milestone, taking place alongside the opening days of the International Telecommunication Union's (ITU) 2026 Plenipotentiary Conference, hosted by the Communications Regulatory Authority from November 9-27 at the same venue.
This marks the first time an MWC event and the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference will be held at the same location, creating a unique opportunity for policymakers and technology leaders to connect, exchange perspectives, and explore shared priorities for the digital future.
The conference will feature the GSMA Ministerial Program, bringing together government ministers, regulatory leaders, and senior industry executives to discuss digital policy, investment, and the future of the ICT sector.
The program will provide a forum for exchanging views on regulatory approaches that encourage innovation, improve access to digital services, and strengthen public-private collaboration.
Under the theme "The IQ Era," MWC26 Doha will explore three key areas: AI in Action, Intelligent Economies, and Connected Infrastructure. Discussions will examine the practical applications of AI in business and public services, the role of technology in driving competitiveness and economic diversification, and the importance of secure, resilient connectivity in supporting future digital growth.
Beyond the conference sessions, MWC26 Doha will offer opportunities for government entities, technology companies, and industry partners to build relationships, exchange expertise, and explore potential collaborations.
The event will also provide a platform for announcing new initiatives, formalizing partnerships, and signing memoranda of understanding, opening further opportunities for cooperation and investment in the ICT sector.
Through its partnership with GSMA to host MWC26 Doha, MCIT continues to support Qatar's development as a regional and international hub for technology and innovation. The conference will provide another opportunity to strengthen engagement with local and global partners while advancing the priorities of Qatar's Digital Agenda 2030 and Qatar National Vision 2030.
